| As you may know, this note comes at a time when many others are
trusting God for the same thing: money. Is it something to worry about?
Nope. God told us to trust Him and not worry. He told us that when we
seek first His kingdom and his righteousness that everything else we
need will be given to us as well.
This year at the Honor
Academy I have been a Core Advisor, which is essentially a mentor/small
group leader. I have had the honor and privilege of getting to know 22
great young men and over 30 wonderful young women as a student leader
on campus. We have prayed together, served together, played together
and grown closer to the Lord together. We have served each other and
loved each other.
A little personal testimony here...
At the beginning of my CA year in August '06 I was in the Lord's hands
and trusting Him with everything in my life. I was confident in who He
was and that He was in my life. I was sure that I was His son and that
He loved me. As the year went on, however, I began to question that.
Foolish, I know, but I did. God was faithful to always remind me of the
Truth throughout the year, though, and I have seen His faithfulness in
many ways. He is Good, and is building me up as a man after His own
Heart. It is His life at work in me that makes it possible for me to
grow closer to Him, to be rooted and grounded in Love... in Him.
As this year is coming to a close He is continuing to be faithful and
bring me closer to Himself. He is very patient, and I am thankful for
that. He is also faithful. I know He will provide the finances I need
in order to stay the rest of the year, but I know that since I don't
have that money He will be bringing it to me through other people. I am
not asking you for money. If you do give I am very grateful, but what I
am asking you all for is your prayers. I know that the prayers of a
righteous man are powerful and effective, and that God will sometimes
wait to do something until His people pray and ask Him to do so.
However, I am sure He will bring in everything I need.
I am
currently in need of $600 in order to be reinstated as I have now officially been dismissed for finances. If I get that $600 in by the 12th by 3:00pm then I will be able to continue my year right from where I left off from being dismissed. Your prayers are powerful and effective, but if any of you are willing to consider being a part of answering those prayers then please do. Honestly, I had a responsibility to do all that I could to get the money in that I needed... I did not handle that responsibility well. If God is not telling you to give then I ask that you consider not giving, even if you yourself have a desire to. I am grateful for your obedience to the LORD. Thank you! (if you decide to donate please see the link below)
Thank you all so much for your support
by way of prayer. Prayer does more than this world knows; prayer moves
God to action. I know God is aware of all our needs before we think to
ask Him for help, but in my experience He loves to hear us ask Him to
meet those needs. When we ask we know who provided; otherwise we might
not give Him the glory He deserves, and He does not share Glory. He is
a Good God, and He wants everyone to know that; if we give someone else His glory then it will look like they provided and not God providing through them.
Thank you again for your prayers. I am praying for you, too. God will be faithful to
answer everything I ask Him to do for you, because I am asking Him to
do things He already wants to do. I will let you
know how He brings in the funds I need in order to
stay. I will keep you posted by way of commenting on my own Xanga Post letting you know when money is coming in. Thanks again.
God's alone, Benjamin Kolo.
